Bingo Glossary

Just like in other casino games, bingo has terminologies exclusively for bingo players only to understand. As a bingo player you must be familiar with bingo lingo. It is important that you first understand these words to be able to use them.

The following is some bingo lingo:

> Blackout

This is also known as "coverall". This word refers to a bingo pattern; this means that you must cover the entire square on the bingo card. This pattern usually has a big jackpot.

> Bingo Board

For bingo halls this is the display board where numbers are displayed after they are called by the caller. This board is an electronic board that lights up the number.

> Caller

This is the person that calls out the number in the game of bingo.

> Chat Room

Bingo online has chat rooms where players get to chat with their friends. Chat rooms are usually divided into different topics, while other chat rooms have age-specifications. Online this is a small window in your screen where you can exchange messages with your friends.

> Dauber

This is a small pen or bottle that is filled with ink. On the tip of the bottle is a foam, this is used by players to mark their bingo cards.

> Early Bird Game

This is the game that starts earlier than the scheduled time. Usually, this is the first game of the bingo session. Sometimes, this is also called a "Warm Up Game".

> Four Corners

This is another kind of pattern; players must cover the four corners of the card in order to win.

> Free Space

This is the square on the middle of the card. This is a free space that has no number on it. In cards this is also known as the Joker. In a pattern this free square is also included.

> Game Board

These terms are used online; it means that a single set of players

> Hard Card

This pertains to a winning bingo in a straight line but not using the free square.

> Instant Bingo

This is a bingo game card with the letters B I N G O, with bingo numbers and faces but without other symbols,

> Jackpot

This is the prizes that are given away to the winner of the bingo game.

> Minimum Buy-in

This is the lowest amount that players can spend to be able to play at bingo.

> Pattern

This is the shape that will determine the winner of every bingo session.

> Quickie

The numbers are called out very quickly; usually the pattern that needs to be filled out is the blackout.
